Private Wealth Associate (Denver, CO)

Our client, an Am Law 100 firm, is seeking a mid-level Private Wealth Associate to join its Denver office. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney with 4+ years of trusts and estates experience who is looking to work on sophisticated wealth planning, tax, and estate administration matters within a nationally recognized private wealth practice.

The successful candidate will work on a wide range of complex matters, including estate planning, trusts and estates, tax analysis, gift and estate tax return preparation, entity selection and structuring, and governance issues involving LLCs, partnerships, and S-corporations. The role offers significant client contact, project management responsibilities, and the opportunity to work closely with high-net-worth individuals, families, business owners, and fiduciaries.

Responsibilities

  • Draft sophisticated estate planning documents, including trusts, wills, and related instruments.
  • Conduct legal research and tax analysis in connection with wealth transfer and estate planning strategies.
  • Prepare and review gift and estate tax returns.
  • Advise clients on entity selection, formation, governance, and succession planning matters.
  • Manage complex projects and maintain direct client relationships.
  • Collaborate with attorneys across tax, corporate, and private wealth disciplines to deliver comprehensive solutions.

The ideal candidate will have at least four years of trusts and estates experience, with a strong foundation in estate planning, trust administration, wealth transfer planning, and related tax matters. Candidates should possess excellent research, analytical, writing, and communication skills, along with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. A strong client-service mindset, project management capabilities, and a collaborative approach are essential. A J.D. from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials is required, while an LL.M. in Taxation is preferred. Candidates must be admitted in Colorado or eligible for admission and should be comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
